No, they weren’t. But isn’t it amazing that history repeats itself again and again. Why is the man-kind not able to learn?
As Ozzy and his crew wrote in 1970 their song “Walpurgis” (also called “Witches’ Mass” on Ozzy’s “Ozzman Cometh” album) the Vietnam war kept the US war machine turning and the war was topic number one on Telly and in the media each day. As the idea of writing a song about Satan’s Chrismas is so close to daily work of some politicians, it was probably easy to rewrite the lyrics. For this reason Black Sabbath changed their lyrics slightly and renamed the title of their song to “War Pigs” for their new Paranoid Album.
Now it’s 2006, 36 years later and the young generation themself have seen some wars (on Telly?) as well and the lyrics fit the situation each time and describes some actual politicians just perfect.
From my point of view, this song should be a must to be tought at school and the best background song for every war news. Read it carefully! Will you be able to name one person fitting this song? Copyrights by Black Sabbath:
Generals gathered in their masses,
just like witches at black masses.
Evil minds that plot destruction,
sorcerers of death’s construction.
In the fields the bodies burning,
as the war machine keeps turning.
Death and hatred to mankind,
poisoning their brainwashed minds.
Oh lord, yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away.
They only started the war.
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah.
Time will tell on their power minds,
making war just for fun.
Treating people just like pawns in chess,
wait till their judgement day comes, yeah.
Now in darkness world stops turning,
ashes where the bodies burning.
No more War Pigs have the power,
Hand of God has struck the hour.
Day of judgement, God is calling,
on their knees the war pigs crawling.
Begging mercies for their sins,
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings.
Oh lord, yeah!
Please keep in mind, that the same wise man, who wrote this lyrics 36 years ago, visited the white house a few month ago. Another proof that drugs do harm your brain.
